* Poppin and lockin practise February 2010
My solo practise in February 2010 and with Uprock Nigel doing some basics. A little bit of poplocking goes a long way.
Here is my new dance website:
*
Comments from a viewer ‘Great dancing. I love the way you faded the routines? together too.’
*
@SoundSurferukII Cheers - with Nigels improvement in Dancing I am sure we will produce better dance acts than last year - and with new ideas, songs, music and some extras planned we are going to ROX the world
Keep on dancing an keep the dream alive.
*
I was in two minds about this dance act - its not my usual heavy fast paced routine but a casual and smoothly performed dance act.
Uprock Nigel gets it together and syncs well with Poplock Paul.
In the middle is even a piece where they are practising in the kitchen and this is put in as the practise came together quite well.
A little bit of poplocking goes a long way especially if two or more street dancers can do it together, at times we do the same moves and at other points of the dance we split and get it back together.
With new ideas, songs, music and some extras planned we are going to ROX the world in 2010.
All I got to say is Keep on dancing an keep the dream alive.
You can always find my dance video on youtube.

March 4th, 2010Council agrees to speeding cuts
February 26th, 2010One cut that most people may actually welcome.
Relief could be in sight for West Sussex Villages plagued by speeding motorists. Reductions in speed from 40mph to 30mph are there in the future for villages that ask for this.
There was speculation that inner city and town speed limits would be lowered to 20mph from the current 30mph limit.
Maybe we should employ people with a red flag to walk in front of cars, it would solve the unempoyment problem.
The motion is being pushed by locals to bring a sense of well being especially for the children of West Dean Primary School.
West Dean near Chichester in the Arun area of West Sussex want a 30mph limit though then arises the question of enforcement. The answer to their problem was more complicated than the motion suggested.
* Hatters with the snowy road turning to mush already, mostly from the cars spoiling the freshly laid snow.

Zone, ahead is a pub next to the foot bridge which crosses over the railway line from Bognor Regis to Barnham. On the right ahead is Goodheart Signs and behind is POW or Prince of Wales pub. To turn left and carry on you would come to the Police station and eventually the Bognor town centre. After that you had better stop because you would run out of road and end up in th sea, Bognor sea front is not all that far away really.

* Leaflets delivered in Bognor, Chichester, Yapton and Barnham.
New Dance Website…
February 25th, 2010New dance website with a collection of street dance videos.
From the end of 2009 and into 2010 a new dance project evolves.
So visit the street dance website for video and info.

Learn to pop, lock and rock with some hip hop routines.
Dancing is about personal achievement and whilst we do relish the idea of dancing in public, we also dance for ourselves.
Mainly we use popping and locking with a touch of uprocking and some hip hop routines. It is fun and whilst I like doing public demos an shows its still a personal thing to me.
We use anything in our street dance to entertain and no one is too old or too young, if you can tense your muscles then you should be able to pop or and lock, if you can pick up the wave or learn to uprock then even better.
We aim to be dancing with and for the Rox group in 2010, there will be workshops open and we may link this in the FAMED blog. Thats the Festivel And Music Evolving Dance 2010 project for Rox Dhm.
Poplock Paul does his dance routine with poplocks, uprock and backward variation of pointing and spin turns, etc.
I train to get that hard hit solid look I am known for mostly but the fluidity of movement is also a consideration.

Battle of the robot dance moves
February 19th, 2010Battle of the robots, who will win.
This is a great clip and quite creative.

War Machine causes a dance scene.
Dancing robots.
A man enters a bar and orders a drink. The bar has a robot bartender. The robot serves him a perfectly prepared cocktail, and then asks him, “What’s your IQ?”
The man replies “150″ and the robot proceeds to make conversation about quantum physics, string theory, atomic chemistry, etc.
The customer is very impressed and thinks, “This is really cool.” He decides to test the robot. He walks out of the bar, turns around, and comes back in for another drink. Again, the robot serves him the drink and? asks him, “What’s your IQ?”
The man responds, “100.”
Immediately the robot starts talking, but this time, about football, NASCAR, baseball, supermodels, etc.
Really impressed, the man leaves the bar and decides to give the robot one more test. He goes back in, the robot serves him and asks, “What’s your IQ?”
The man replies, “30.
And the robot says, “So, you gonna vote for the Labour party again?”

Grappling information available
February 15th, 2010Skill, stand up and ground grappling from our free membership website.
Stand-up grappling
Stand-up grappling or sometimes clinching, is arguably an integral part of all grappling and clinch fighting arts, considering that two combatants generally start fighting from a stand-up position. The aim of stand-up grappling varies according to the martial arts or combat sports in question. Defensive stand-up grappling concerns itself with pain-compliance holds and escapes from possible grappling holds applied by an opponent, while offensive grappling techniques include submission holds, takedowns and throws, all of which can be used to inflict serious damage, or to move the fight to the ground. Stand-up grappling can also be used both offensively and defensively in combination with striking, either to prevent the opponent from obtaining sufficient distance to strike effectively, or to bring the opponent close to apply, for instance, knee strikes such as in Muay Thai.
In combat sports, stand-up grappling usually revolves around successful takedowns and throws. In some sports such as glima, the fight is over once one of the opponents has fallen down, in others such as judo, going to the ground marks the beginning of a separate phase called ne-waza.
In judo, the aim of ne-waza is to obtain a chokehold, joint lock or to pin the opponent.
* Ground grappling from our free membership website.
Ground grappling refers to all the grappling techniques that are applied while the grapplers are no longer in a standing position. A large part of most martial arts and combat sports which feature ground grappling is positioning and obtaining a dominant position. A dominant position (usually on top) allows the dominant grappler a variety of options, including: attempting to escape by standing up, obtaining a pin or hold-down to control and exhaust the opponent, executing a submission hold, or striking the opponent. The bottom grappler is, on the other hand, concerned with escaping the situation and improving his position, typically by using a sweep or reversal. In some disciplines, especially those where the guard is used, the bottom grappler may also be able to finish the fight from the bottom by a submission hold.
